Selen is a Florence-based illustrator and visual researcher from Turkiye. After completing her bachelor's degree in Graphic Design she received her M.Sc. in Media and Cultural Studies. She is currently studying the role of illustration and visual arts in protests and social movements in Scuola Normale Superiore as a PhD student. She regulary contributes to the feminist media platform Lazy Women as an illustrator. Her interests are the intersection of art and social change, experiences of girls and women, and everything Italy-related.
In 2023 she was selected as one of the feminists to illustrate a short graphic novel for Heinrich Boell's Global Feminist Pitch as can be seen in the Guardian.
